The first exhibition game ever played at Fenway Park when the Red Sox play Harvard.

Most major league baseball stadiums have reopened to offer more seats, better views, upscale food, and corporate boxes.  However, Fenway Park hasn’t changed, and to this day it remains one of the great Cathedrals in sports.

It was on this day, April 9th, 1912, that the first ever game was played at Fenway Park.  The game was an exhibition game played between the Red Sox and Harvard.

About 3,000 fans were in attendance for the exhibition game.  The game was called after 7 innings with the Red Sox defeating Harvard 2 – 0.  The Red Sox would play their first regular season game at Fenway Park 11 days later against the New York Highlanders.
